Today went to a bank…the dude was very old but very nice…I gave him all my documents and he kept calling me josepp or joseppi…apparently he has to ask his boss if it’s ok to open an account for me. He’ll call me tomorrow. After I was in there I got the impression it wasn’t a major bank, but sort of a small town thing. He was nice though. He tried to speak english even though he was about 70 years old…At one point he was holding out his hand and using his fingers to count off…I…you…we…them…or something like that. I quite liked him. Alessandro was his name.
Tonight I had pizza near the hotel and then went down to the beach (only about 100 meters) and then had 2 glasses of wine for 2 euros. I gave him a 20 and he asked for 2 euros. I figured it would be 12 euros for the two glasses and he just wanted to give me back a 10 in change, but no…it was in fact 2 euros for 2 glasses of wine. I’m making friends already 😉
this sounds like an email I just wrote…hmmm…
Work is good. I stay busy which I like.
No Phone yet. I’ll try to do that tomorrow, but I guess I have to wait to see about the bank account first.
It gets dark early here. I can’t believe it’s already 9:20 and dark. We’re further south than Frankfurt so I guess I shall conclude that the dark days of winter aren’t quite so dark here as they are in Frankfurt, and the long summer days aren’t quite so long.
“The Notebook” is on TV right now. The Billie Holliday song is on…that old familiar…something…not depressing at all…Now I get to add a Billie Holliday tag to this blog 🙂
