is raw bacon fat or some sort of raw animal fat…A colleague and I were taken to dinner at one of the locals favorite italian restaurant. Raw bacon, raw bacon fat, and raw salami (is all salami raw?) as appetizers. Not too bad…but then again not all that great.
We then had some great beef served up like raclette. Beef on a hot plate with tomatoes cheese etc. yummmmmmmy.
The hospitality of the Italians is incredible!
Italian pastries are quite tasty as well….

One should never eat raw meat.
I know it’s kind of rare in the states (except Sushi), but it’s fairly common in europe. Carpaccio is on a lot of menus in Italy as well as Germany.
I’ve eaten it raw many times in europe and never had any ill effects.
