I still get the impression that Italians don’t really know what’s going on with euro politics and the economics of some European countries (esp. their own). They were very Berlusconi focused, and thought of him as THE problem.
I’ve wondered for years why there aren’t more scientists, economists (if I may coin a new phrase – technocrat 😉 ) in politics. I think we all know the answer is that a countries “best and brightest” don’t go into politics (they go into the military…hahah).
First, I must correct myself. It is “There is no God, therefore I will be God” They don’t say that exactly. It is what they truly believe and it is the way they govern.
The first principle of most universities is ego blotation. The feeding, the nurturing, the puffing up of the human ego. Some knowledge aquisition does take place off course.
Yes I probably overspoke. Some people are well oriented by their early formative enviornment, or some conversion experience; and retain a realistic and wholesome world view. The unelected bureaucrats at the UN and in Government are the types I was refering to.
