Bizarro bird of paradise…

Someone came to my page by putting that phrase into a search engine…huh….not sure I ever typed (or uttered) those words in that order, but okey dokey!
Now that I’m about to tag Bizarro bird of paradise I guess my page should be somewhere near the top for that search term…

Words I learned this week

cecina = chickpea: This was actually a funny moment. I was waiting for a pizza last night and the super duper friendly pizza man gave me a free sample of something. It was cecina. I’ve never had chickpeas before, and he wasn’t sure of the english word, so today I asked at work…There were a lot of puzzled looks, conversation and about 5 people going online to look up cecina…chickpeas. The pizza man by the way tried to sell me his pizza place (“I don’t want to be in italy…at this time”). His alternative was to offer to open a pizzeria with me in the states…since I already have a job I declined, but he’s one of the warmest, nicest strangers I think I’ve ever met. I wish he’d stop smiling all the time though. It kind of freaks me out 😉 after I told him that I am working and living in Italy. He said “you must learn Italian”. I said “si. d’accordo”. See, I know tons of words 😉
scirocco=wind from the south-east. wow…I’m glad to know this…Everyday I keep wishing there was a word for the massive wind from the south-east 😉
al’hg = 100g
celiaci = coeliac or (in american) celiac. Could celiaci actually mean “one who has coeliac”?
I ought not to speculate about things I know almost nothing about.

Colleague: come va con l’italiano?
me: si
colleauges laughing at me…
this italian thing is a piece o’ cake.
