I finished two books last week. “The Black Book” by Orphan Pamuk. Translated from Turkish. It was a beautiful book. Nice prose. And Robopocalypse which has a gigantic font so I went through it very quickly. If one is following tech and robots it’s a great book. I recommend them both!
I’m not onto another Murakami book, which is great as always.
I haven’t gotten any emails lately about climate change. I guess cuz it’s historically warm or something…
I’m in the middle of After dark 🙂 and I have a quote for you: “‎In this world, there are things you can only do alone, and things you can only do with somebody else. It’s important to combine the two in just the right amount”
You should read some history. A suggestion.
The Guns of August. B. Tuchman
Climate has been changing throughout the earths history. There was the medieval warm period, followed by the little ice age, followed by the current warming period. What is significant is the agenda of the so called enviormentalist. They are delusional peaple for which “enviormentalism” is just a pretext for an evil agenda.
@A: I just read After Dark today. I didn’t notice the quote you mentioned. I wonder if we have different english translations…or are you reading in Polish?
@dad: I do read history when I can. My selection here is somewhat limited, but I found out recently that Amazon is now delivering to Italy, so I’ll have a look for that book.
As far as the second comment I thought while reading it that you’ve gone mad (crazy)…so now we’re just getting into name calling…Environmentalists are delusional and evil, and you’re mad. Great!
I was going to correct your spelling of environmentalist, but then I thought it might be a slur I wasn’t aware of so I’m leaving it as is.
So climate has been changing for a lot longer than written and oral history can record. I agree with you there, but to take on your argument of evil…I guess you’re arguing that pollution (in all it’s forms), destruction, death of humans etc can be called good or “A good agenda”.
One could argue that environmentalism is a pro-life movement, but I’m not going to bother…I’m not going to change your mind anyways…
I do find it funny that for people that believe the bible must also believe that gods original plan for humankind was to hang out in a garden, being vegetarians…where’s the religious political movement for that one?
You skipped this part – that explains why it took you only 2 hours to read 🙂
I read it in Polish but I found English translation: this is a dialog between Mari and Korogi almost at the end…
(BTW in Polish translation Korogi is a Cricket)
