I think only Muslims will try to kill you if you burn their books. Did you know the US military burned some Afganistani Bibles. Even handing out Bibles will get you killed by the Muslims.
You can’t make a blanket statement lumping all Muslims into that basket. That’s like lumping protestant, catholics, mormons, and anglicans together…There’s a big range of disagreements there…and muslims have the same sort of disagreements…
Anyways the extremist muslims are just following their holy book.

* DEUTERONOMY 25:11-12
If a man gets into a fight with another man and his wife seeks to rescue her husband by grabbing the enemy’s genitals, her hand shall be cut off and no pity shall be shown her.
I’m certain you don’t agree with these teachings from the Bible about sex. And you shouldn’t. The list goes on: The Bible says clearly that sex with a prostitute is acceptable for the husband but not for the wife. Polygamy (more than one wife) is acceptable, as is a king’s having many concubines. (Solomon, the wisest king of all, had 1,000 concubines.) Slavery and sex with slaves, marriage of girls aged 11-13, and treatment of women as property are all accepted practices in the Scriptures. On the other hand, there are strict prohibitions against interracial marriage, birth control, discussing or even naming a sexual organ, and seeing one’s parents nude.

Anyways the 2 pakistani guys at the Kebap shop seem kind of cold to me the last 3 or 4 days…I hope they aren’t spitting in my kebap 😉 They really wanted to be my friend up until a few days ago.
Maybe they (Pakis)read my comments. I feel bad now. I will study on those Bible comments. I can say this for now; 1) A lot of those laws were for the Israelites of that time- they are not like the 10 commandments which are for all time and all people (thanks for the spelling tip). 2) The rabbis interpreted the laws and the application was not as harsh as you think. 3) In a lot of cases the Bible commands actually improved the treatment of people by setting standards where there were none at all in the other civilizations of that time. 4) Most important, the penalty for sin hasn’t changed. These were given to show that sin is a terrible offense against God, and the penalty for sin is harsh. They show the holliness and majesty of God. If you killed an ant, no penalty. If you kill your neighbor’s dog, a fine and maybe a short incarceration. If you even tried but failed to shoot some high official, there would be a long sentence. The difference is who the offence was against. Any offence against the infinite God is very serious. That is why the sacrifice of Yeshua; Jesus is so great. Without it we are toast.

I don’t find the bible or qur’an or torah or the US constitution to be any more holy than a Murakami book (so I am fine lumping together Protestants, Mormons, Jews and Wahabbis) 😉 – I just lumped you in with the muslim brotherhood and joseph smith…
