Got up early today and decided to take a short trip to Lerici. It’s only about 20k from here (except for the road closure that turned it into about 30k). I had been to Lerici a couple times before. It’s a beautiful place. Maybe next nice weekend I’ll try for Cinque Terra on the Vespa.
Seems to be lagging a bit on acceleration. I guess it needs a tuneup or somethin…Which in the lawnmower engine I guess just means changing the spark plug (plugs?). I s’pose that means a bit of tool shopping…
Pics from today…
Excellent. Get tools as needed and do your own work. I am fixing a 96 Neon. There is a lot of information on the web. It takes time to find, but with enough searching, it is there. Get a manual (book) also. This neon was driven untill the timing belt broke, which caused other damage. Be aware of maintenance and reliability issues with your vehicle, such as the drive chain. They need replaced also
– before they break. Great pictures. Looks like a great place to be.
I’ll be working on it in the street or parking lot. I have no garage here. Luckily it’s very simple. It really is like a riding lawnmower.
The old Vespas are famous for their reliability and ease of fixing. There’s also a law here that all vehicles have to be inspected every year or two for roadworthiness. I have to take it in before July for the annual inspection so if there’s anything in need of repair I’ll find out then. in the meantime maybe just a bit of a tuneup…
