Actually I wrote that last entry today…it’s still today…the last entry was the wrong date…Did I mention how lonely i was yesterday????
So I went to the Irish today and ate with Anne (Vladdi’s girl) and Cervix….I miss my friends….IÂ was sitting alone, but it’s nice to frequent a place often enough that you know the staff….Pete and Elliot where there too…I played darts with Cervix and won. I think I hit the wall more often than the dart board….I think Tony was laughing at me.
Home now to listen to depressing music in the dark with candles….
example:
I’ve been a moonshiner
for 17 long years.
and I’ve spent all my money on Whiskey and Beer
and I go to some hollow to set at my still
an dif the whiskey don’t kill me I don’t know what will
and I go to some barroom
to drink with my friends
where the women they can’t follow
to see what I spent
god bless them pretty women
I wish…they were mine
with breath as sweet as…dew, on the vine
Let me eat when I’m hungry
let me drink when I’m dry
Two dollars when I’m hard up
Religion when I die.
and the whole world is a bottle
and life is but a drown
When the bottle gets empty
lord it sure ain’t worth a damn.
that’s just what’s on at the moment, but I think it fits…the band is Son Volt, might be a cover though….
next song…
Ride the blue wind high and free
it’ll lead you down through misery
leave you low, come time to go
alone and low
as low can be.
if I had a nickel I’d find a game
and if I won a dollar I’d make it rain
if it rained an ocean, I’d drink it dry
lay me down
to satisfy
it’s legs to walk and hard(?) to fly
eyes to laugh and lips to cry
a restless tongue to classify
all born to grow
|and grown to die
Tell my mother I did no wrong
and tell my baby I said so long
and tell my brother to watch his own
and tell my friends to mourn me not
chain upon the face of time
and feelin full of foolish rhyme
ain’t no dark til somethin shines
I’m bound to leave this dark behind
ride the blue wind high and free
it’ll lead you down through misery
leave you low, come time to go
alone and low
as low can be
I like songs that don’t have courses….what passes for country music today is nothing more than pop music sung by people with southern accents….
what’s written above is not country music….
